IMPORTANT – Dealer to contact battery recycle company directly for pick up and disposal of faulty batteries. Do not return faulty batteries to Mercury Marine, they are to be transported directly to the battery recycler*.

Freight, disposal & replacement shipping carton will be paid for by Mercury for valid warranty claims, otherwise. These will be on-charged to dealer at cost.

1. Correct Disposals of Batteries
This product is designed and manufactured with high quality materials and components, many of which can be recycled and reused.
Please act according to the local rules and do not dispose of old product with normal waste.
The correct disposal of old product will help prevent potential negative consequences to the environment and human health.

2. Faulty Battery Storage & Handling

Lithium‑ion batteries are classed as a hazardous material and require approved containers for storage and transport.
Batteries that are damaged, submerged, misused or faulty are potentially susceptible to combustion.
Use the CDS G3 and battery interface harness to generate a report
Store in a location and/or container suitable for damaged batteries
If a battery is suspected of having been compromised, contact Mercury Marine for the correct procedure regarding transport and disposal
Battery transport & disposal*
- Warranty Claims –The battery transport, disposal and replacement shipping box costs will be covered by Mercury.
- Damaged (non-warranty) or end of life – The battery freight and disposal & replacement shipping carton will be on-charged to dealer at cost

3. End-of-Life (EOL) Battery Disposal*
Lithium-ion batteries have specific requirements for disposal due to important environmental and safety considerations
The owner will be responsible for the battery transport and disposal costs
As part of the Avator program, the Mercury nominated companies can be used by you for battery disposal, however, the freight and disposal & replacement box will be on-charged to dealer at cost
